As a Software Quality Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of the software platforms that power healthcare innovation. Working alongside software engineers, product teams, and quality professionals, you will contribute to the delivery of enterprise applications used in highly regulated environments where quality matters.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated testing activities for enterprise software applications

  • Review product requirements and technical specifications to identify risks, define test coverage, and support sprint planning activities

  • Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and QA colleagues to ensure high-quality software delivery

  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and testing documentation based on business and technical requirements

  • Investigate defects and test failures through log analysis, database validation, and application troubleshooting

  • Validate functionality across web, mobile, API, and backend systems where applicable

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality, testing efficiency, and team processes

  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement sessions, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

  • Help drive a quality-first mindset throughout the software development lifecycle

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software quality engineering

  • Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies

  • Experience testing web and/or mobile applications

  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices

  • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Authorization to work in Costa Rica and ability to work remotely from within the country

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools

  • Experience testing APIs and backend services

  • Exposure to cloud technologies and DevOps practices

  • Familiarity with AWS environments

  • Experience working within healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or other regulated industries
