  • Collaborate with Solution Analysts, Project Managers, Validation teams, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions for clinical studies.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, production releases, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate technical documentation.

As a BI Report Developer (SQL Developer), you will transform business requirements into SQL-based database solutions and client-facing reports that help study teams make informed decisions throughout the clinical trial lifecycle. Working alongside Solution Analysts, Project Managers, Validation teams, and experienced database engineers, you'll develop reporting solutions, build database objects, and continuously learn new technologies in a collaborative environment. What You'll Be Doing

  • Translate business requirements into SQL-based database solutions, stored procedures, functions, and client-facing reports.

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL queries, database objects, and reporting solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and modern reporting platforms.

  • Collaborate with Solution Analysts, Project Managers, Validation teams, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions for clinical studies.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, production releases, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining accurate technical documentation.

  • Learn new technologies, reporting tools, and development practices while progressively taking ownership of assigned clinical study projects with the support of experienced mentors.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in SQL development, database programming, reporting development, or a similar technical role.

  • Working knowledge of SQL fundamentals, including writing queries, understanding joins, stored procedures, functions, and database logic.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or another relational database platform.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.

  • Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to learn new technologies, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving technical environment.

  • Experience with Python or modern reporting and visualization tools is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with XML, XSLT, JavaScript, or CSS is an advantage but not required.

  • Previous experience in healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research is not required; training will be provided.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Must be authorized to work in Costa Rica and able to work remotely from Costa Rica.
