The Opportunity
The Global Gas Expert ensures the safe, compliant, and sustainable use of gases across Hitachi Energy globally by standardizing guidelines, supporting projects and operations, driving innovation (EconiQ), and enabling quality, training, and continuous improvement throughout the full lifecycle.
How you’ll make an impact:
Develop and standardize global SOPs and guidelines for gas handling and lifecycle management
Ensure HSE compliance and safe storage standards across all facilities
Lead gas lifecycle management, including quality control, reuse, and sustainability initiatives
Drive and coordinate technical improvements related to gas systems in factories
Support investment projects by defining technical requirements and ensuring efficient system design
Drive equipment harmonization and digital integration within the Digital Factory environment
Develop and deliver training programs and build a global SME knowledge network
Conduct audits, ensure compliance, and lead incident investigations with strong root cause analysis
Monitor regulatory changes and sustainability trends, translating them into continuous improvements
Your background:
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent technical field;
Minimum 5 years of experience gas handling and related environment, preferably in the energy sector in relationship to switchgear and HV systems;
General understanding with regulation and environmental standards;
Knowledge of production systems, process optimization, PFMEA, Lean methodology, and continuous improvement;
Experience working in a matrix and global organization;
Strong communication skills; collaborative team player able to influence without direct authority.
Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Structured, analytical, and improvement oriented mindset. Curious, proactive, and open to learning.
