TYPE OF POSITION/EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Temporary (3 months with an opportunity for extension) 

DEPARTMENT: Financial Aid

SCHEDULE: Hours vary according to schedule needs. Includes evenings and weekends. Shifts are typically 4 to 7 hours, mostly on campus but may include teaching remote instruction sessions.

HOURS/WEEK: 25 hours/week 

FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt, Hourly

GENERAL PURPOSE

We are seeking a Temporary Financial Aid Professional to support our Financial Aid Office. This role will assist with the administration of federal student aid programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations while delivering high-quality service to students and families. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and process FAFSA applications and supporting documentation. 
  • Perform verification of student eligibility in accordance with federal guidelines. 
  • Assist in awarding and adjusting federal financial aid packages. 
  • Counsel students and families on federal aid programs (Pell Grants, Direct Loans, Work-Study). 
  • Resolve discrepancies and manage incomplete files. 
  • Maintain accurate records utilizing internal software: PowerFaids. 
  • Support operations, including phone, emails and walk-ins


REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree
  • 1+ year of experience in Financial Aid 
  • Knowledge of PowerFaids
  • Familiarity with FAFSA and federal Title IV regulations 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Excellent customer services and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree 

SALARY INFORMATION

When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring hourly rate for this position is $35.00. This hourly rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
