Job description

As a Transportation Safety Services Consultant II, you will deliver Safety Services to our business units with primary focus on our trucking book of business.

We are currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated and results driven individual to fill an open position in our Transportation Safety Services Division.  

Based on qualifications and experience, the base salary range for a Transportation Safety Services Consultant II is:

  • $82,400-$123,600 annual in Arizona

  • $90,640-$135,960 annual in Colorado

What You’ll Do

The following are some of the responsibilities of the Transportation Risk Control Consultant that would be located in the Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO area with travel responsibilities mainly in (AZ, CO, Southern CA, NV, NM, KS, and Western, TX). 

  • Conduct onsite safety consultations to assigned clients while also evaluating underwriting acceptability

  • Recommend safety enhancements and provide technical safety resources to customers

  • Complete detailed reports to agents and underwriting regarding the account profile, risk improvement opportunities, and overall opinion of risk

  • Develop, coordinate and conduct safety seminars and training programs for customers to promote driver safety awareness and reduce claims

  • Maintain and demonstrate expertise in areas such as FMCSA compliance, fleet safety, driver management, safety culture development, general liability, and cargo securement/protection

 What It Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in the trucking industry

  • Knowledge of  FMCSA regulations and fleet safety best practices.

  • A minimum of 2 plus years of advanced knowledge in a safety department in the trucking industry

  • Effective oral and written communication and human relation skills

  • Certified Director of Safety (CDS) through NATMI or willing to pursue designation

  • High level of independence and self-motivation to work from home and manage a large geographic territory

  • An acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to perform extensive travel over a large territory is required (60% travel)
