Job description

Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced healthcare domain architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare IT and provider workflows, as well as the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The healthcare domain architect will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of healthcare IT solutions that meet the needs of our providers and patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Analysis: Analyze and understand the workflow and operational processes within healthcare provider organizations, such as hospitals or clinics. Identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understand healthcare domain and demonstrate familiarity with healthcare systems, standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), regulatory requirements, interoperability, and healthcare workflows to create solutions that address the specific needs of healthcare providers.
  • Technology Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and IT teams, to design and architect technology solutions that streamline and optimize provider workflows. This may include electronic health record (EHR) systems, clinical decision support tools, scheduling systems, or communication platforms. Provide guidance and technical leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
  • Requirements Gathering: Engage with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to gather detailed requirements for technology solutions. Understand their needs, preferences, and challenges related to workflow management and integrate them into the solution design. Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements and define solution architectures that address functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Solution Implementation and Integration: Work closely with development teams and IT departments to ensure successful implementation and integration of the proposed technology solutions. Provide guidance and support throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that the solutions align with the established provider workflows.
  • Data Integration and Interoperability: Collaborate with data integration specialists and IT teams to establish seamless data exchange between various systems and applications involved in provider workflows. Implement interoperability standards and protocols to enable smooth information flow across different platforms.
  • Usability and User Experience: Ensure that the technology solutions are designed with a user-centric approach. Focus on usability, intuitive interfaces, and efficient interaction patterns to support healthcare professionals in their daily tasks and enhance overall workflow efficiency.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Stay updated with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, and ensure that technology solutions adhere to privacy and security standards. Implement appropriate measures to protect patient data and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including healthcare professionals, administrators, and IT departments, to ensure alignment and buy-in for proposed technology solutions. Communicate effectively and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Lead the design, development, and implementation of healthcare IT solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 12+ years of experience in healthcare IT
  • Experience with provider workflows and processes
  • Experience with Payor workflow and processes will be desired.
  • Exposure in leveraging Cloud to solve Healthcare use cases/problems.
  • Exposure in applying Machine Learning/NLP to Healthcare use cases/problems.
  • EMR/EHR experience (EPIC, Cerner) - Nice to have.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare industry standards (e.g., HL7, DICOM, IHE) and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Ability to work in a start-up like mode displaying extreme ownership.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-based technologies, data analytics, interoperability, and security practices within the healthcare domain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving architectural issues.
