Job Description

Position Summary

The PPAP Coordinator manages the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new and modified components to ensure compliance with JLG, Oshkosh, AIAG, and customer requirements. This role drives timely, accurate, and complete supplier submissions while coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support successful product launches and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve supplier PPAP submissions for completeness and compliance with AIAG and customer requirements.
  • Validate dimensional results, GD&T, control plans, PFMEA, MSA, material certifications, and performance testing.
  • Ensure alignment to design records, print notes, and critical characteristics.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve documentation gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Track PPAP status and escalate risks to support NPI, ECNs, and production readiness.
  • Prepare and issue Part Submission Warrants (PSW) and approval documentation.
  • Maintain accurate PPAP records and revision control.
  • Support launch readiness, APQP activities, and design/process reviews.
  • Review capability studies, Gage R&R, and process validation documentation.
  • Support interim approvals and manage supplier resubmissions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to PPAP compliance.
  • Drive improvement in PPAP first-pass yield and reduce submission errors.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years of experience in quality, supplier quality, or PPAP coordination.
  • Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience reviewing dimensional reports, certifications, and process validation data.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality/document management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Certification in quality or AIAG Core Tools.
  • Experience with QMS systems, supplier portals, or PPAP platforms.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
  • Experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, or launch environments.
  • Knowledge of special processes such as welding, coating, or plating.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of PPAP requirements and supplier documentation expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple submissions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and supplier communication.
  • Ability to identify issues and drive timely resolution.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based with regular interaction with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier teams. Occasional travel or supplier interaction may be required.
