Job description

Razor is seeking a 100% Remote Database Technician (Junior / Entry-Level) to support a long term, federal government contracted opportunity. You will maintain databases that power critical systems. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative team environment. No prior database job experience is required; training will be provided. The position emphasizes learning by doing, with curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn valued over years of experience.

Education & Certification Requirements
High School Diploma

Clearance Requirements
Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust or similar clearance.

Onsite Requirements
100% Remote

Responsibilities
  • Support database operations, including basic maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Assist with running queries and pulling data for reports
  • Help track database performance and flag issues to senior team members
  • Participate in team discussions on system improvements and updates
  • Learn how databases are designed, secured, and scaled in real environments
  • Document processes and updates clearly

Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of databases or data through coursework, bootcamp, or self-study
  • Exposure to SQL or a strong willingness to learn SQL quickly
  • Comfort working with data in tools such as Excel or similar applications
  • Strong attention to detail, with an understanding that small mistakes matter
  • Good communication skills and the ability to ask questions when clarification is needed
  • Organized and able to follow established processes

Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services
