À propos du poste

Ce poste s’adresse à des professionnels souhaitant mettre leur esprit d’analyse et leur compréhension du droit au service du développement et de la gestion de publications juridiques. L’éditeur(trice) juridique joue un rôle clé dans le développement de projets de monographies, le suivi des ouvrages qui lui sont confiés, l’accompagnement d’auteurs reconnus et la publication d’ouvrages de référence destinés à l’ensemble de la communauté juridique. Il s’agit d’un rôle éditorial, distinct de la pratique traditionnelle du droit et de la rédaction d’ouvrages.

Sous la supervision de la Gestionnaire éditoriale, Contenu analytique – Canada, la personne choisie accomplira les tâches suivantes :

  • Assurer le suivi et la coordination des ouvrages qui lui sont confiés, disponibles en ligne et en format imprimé;

  • Effectuer le suivi des auteurs pour obtenir la remise des manuscrits et des mises à jour selon les échéanciers fixés;

  • Recruter de nouveaux auteurs et assurer le remplacement des auteurs qui se désistent;

  • Participer au processus éditorial et à la publication des manuscrits de langue française;

  • Établir et maintenir de bonnes relations avec la communauté juridique, y compris les praticiens, les universitaires, les membres de la magistrature, les bibliothécaires et d'autres partenaires externes;

  • Contribuer à divers projets de traduction;

  • Agir à titre de personne-ressource auprès des auteurs et des membres de nos différentes équipes.

PROFIL RECHERCHÉ

  • Excellente maîtrise de la langue française;

  • Excellente maîtrise de la langue anglaise;

  • Détenir un baccalauréat en droit;

  • Membre du Barreau du Québec ou de la Chambre des notaires du Québec, un atout;

  • Aptitudes organisationnelles et grand souci du détail;

  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs projets et à respecter les délais de publication de nos produits imprimés et en ligne;

  • Habiletés à développer des relations privilégiées avec nos collaborateurs et à travailler sur des projets impliquant plusieurs équipes;

  • Excellentes compétences en communication (orale et écrite);

  • Connaissance d’Adobe Acrobat et de la suite Microsoft Office;

  • Maîtrise de l’intégration de l’intelligence artificielle dans les processus de travail, incluant l’utilisation quotidienne de modèles de langage (LLM) et d’outils d’IA pour soutenir l’analyse et le développement de contenu, ainsi que l’optimisation itérative des requêtes afin d’assurer des résultats de qualité constante.

About the Role

This position is intended for professionals who wish to apply their analytical skills and understanding of the law to the development and management of legal publications. The Legal Editor plays a key role in developing legal textbooks, managing an assigned portfolio of publications, working closely with recognized authors, and contributing to the publication of leading reference works relied upon by the legal community. This is an editorial role, distinct from the traditional practice of law and from legal writing.

Reporting to the Editorial Manager, Canada Analytical Content, the position will include the following key responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the publications within their portfolio, available both online and in print;

  • Follow up with authors to ensure the timely delivery of manuscripts and updates according to established schedules;

  • Recruit new authors and replace authors who have withdrawn;

  • Participate in the editorial process and the publication of French-language manuscripts;

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the legal community, including practitioners, academics, members of the judiciary, librarians, and other external partners;

  • Contribute to various translation projects;

  • Act as a resource person for authors and various internal departments.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Excellent French language skills (oral and written);

  • Excellent English language skills (oral and written);

  • Law degree required;

  • Membership in the Barreau du Québec or Chambre des notaires du Québec is an asset;

  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail;

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines for print and online;

  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of cross-departmental project teams;

  • Excellent communication (oral and written);

  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office suit;

  • Experience operating with AI as a standard part of workflows, including demonstrated hands-on experience using LLMs and AI-enabled tools daily to support content and analysis; iterating prompts to improve output quality and consistency.
