About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will apply advanced technical knowledge and enterprise-focused thinking using AI and automation to achieve strategic enterprise objectives. You’ll serve as a technical leader who coaches team members, influences business and regulatory requirements, and drives AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable organizational value.

In this role, you’ll identify innovative reusable solutions, investigate complex technical challenges, and develop strategic data solutions with a cross-functional perspective. You’ll create advanced automated frameworks, design platform features, and use storytelling techniques to build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups while significantly impacting our Data Engineering strategy.

Responsibilities:

Advanced Technical Leadership

  • Design and build advanced reusable and automated frameworks for enterprise-scale data processing
  • Architect platform features with comprehensive cross-functional view and strategic alignment
  • Develop AI-powered solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Lead complex problem-solving initiatives and root cause analysis for critical systems

Strategic Data Solutions

  • Create comprehensive data solutions that align with enterprise objectives and strategic goals
  • Design and implement data modeling using relational and star schema architectures
  • Build full-stack data solutions integrating multiple Azure services and cloud technologies
  • Drive innovation in data processing, storage, and analytics capabilities

Team Leadership & Influence

  • Mentor junior and intermediate data engineers on advanced technical concepts and best practices
  • Influence business and regulatory requirements through technical expertise and strategic recommendations
  • Use storytelling and data visualization to build consensus across organizational levels
  • Lead technical decision-making for complex data architecture and implementation choices

Enterprise Impact

  • Drive organizational value through strategic data engineering initiatives and AI implementation
  • Impact Data Engineering strategy through thought leadership and technical innovation
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align technical solutions with business strategy
  • Champion data engineering best practices and standards across the organization

Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience in data engineering with proven track record of technical leadership
  • Demonstrated experience building enterprise-scale data solutions and frameworks
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical strategy

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced Programming: Expert Python skills including inheritance, reflection, meta-programming, and advanced design patterns
  • Full-Stack Capabilities: Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end data solution development
  • Big Data & Streaming: Expert knowledge of Apache Spark, PySpark, Kafka, and distributed computing concepts
  • Azure Services: Deep proficiency in Azure data services (Databricks, Azure Functions, Event Hubs), architecture, and cloud-native solutions
  • Data Modeling: Advanced expertise in relational database design, star schema modeling, and data warehousing concepts
  • AI/Automation: Proven experience implementing AI-powered solutions and automation frameworks at enterprise scale
  • Architecture: Strong system design and architecture skills for complex data solutions and microservices
