We are currently seeking a
Senior Data Conversion Specialist to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario.
Project Summary
The client has undertaken numerous modernization and digital transformation initiatives to improve service delivery, enhance efficiency, and ensure programs remain responsive to evolving societal needs.
The
Purview initiative is a key step toward improved governance, data management, and service innovation. It aims to streamline and strengthen the department’s approach to information management, data governance, and digital services while providing a framework for decision-making and accountability.
Deliverables
- Comprehensive report outlining findings for each task
- Implementation documentation package (e.g., how-to guide)
- Executive presentation summarizing recommendations and key insights
Key Responsibilities
- Assess Microsoft Purview’s data lifecycle and usage of retention labels
- Develop a comprehensive retention label allocation strategy
- Recommend approaches to streamline retention and disposition processes
- Provide contingency solutions using other M365 tools (e.g., Power Automate)
- Design methods to manage complex retention triggers
- Prepare implementation documentation for client teams
- Compile findings into reports and executive presentations
- Oversee the full data conversion lifecycle
- Perform mapping, mock conversions, execution, and validation
- Build strong client relationships and provide support
- Analyze and coordinate data conversions
- Work with data from heterogeneous platforms
- Assist with data cleansing
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Information Management, Data Governance, or Data Lifecycle Management
- 3+ years of recent experience with Microsoft Purview and M365 tools
- Valid Government of Canada Reliability Security Clearance
- Canadian degree or diploma (or recognized equivalent) in a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and executive presentation skills
- Experience with workflow automation or business process design
- Experience with SQL or data analysis tools
- Experience with records management, compliance, or audits
- Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
