Key Activities
Design and develop complex PowerBI reports and dashboards with advanced calculations, ensuring optimal performance and scalability
Troubleshoot and optimize existing PowerBI reports by analyzing performance bottlenecks, refining queries, solving gateway issues and improving data refresh times
Integrate PowerBI with multiple data sources (SQL Server, Azure, APIs, Excel, 3rd party applications) and establish automated data refresh schedules and gateway configurations
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, create technical documentation, and provide best practices guidance on PowerBI governance and security
Required Technical Skills
Strong data modeling skills with experience in star/snowflake schemas, normalization, and building relationships across multiple data sources
Advanced knowledge of PowerBI Service, Desktop, Report Server, including row-level security (RLS), deployment pipelines, and workspace management
Solid SQL skills and experience with database design, query optimization, and working with relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.)
