Job Description:

  • People Technology team is seeking an experienced Workday Integration consultant to lead the technical implementation of our US Payroll 2026 migration to Ceridian Dayforce.
  • This is a critical project that will modernize payroll operations for all US-based employees, with a targeted go-live in October 2026.
  • You will work closely with People Technology team, Payroll Operations, and external vendors to design, build, test, and deploy integrations between Workday and Dayforce.
  • In addition to project work, you will provide day-to-day support to stakeholders on various payroll and benefits integration issues, ensuring system stability and operational continuity.
  • The People Tech team will provide strategic oversight and subject matter expertise while you drive day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities:
Integration Development & Implementation
  • Design and develop integrations between Workday and Ceridian Dayforce using Workday Studio and PECI (Payroll Effective Change Interface)
  • Build and configure bi-directional data flows between Workday and Dayforce using Dayforce REST APIs
  • Develop and maintain Workday EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors
  • Create calculated fields and custom reports to support integrations
  • Develop custom integration solutions to handle complex payroll scenarios and edge cases
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all integration points
Keeping the Lights On (KTLO) & Operational Support
• Provide day-to-day support to Payroll, Benefits, and HR stakeholders on integration issues
• Monitor and troubleshoot existing Workday and Dayforce integrations to ensure operational stability
• Respond to production incidents and resolve integration failures in a timely manner and perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures
• Maintain and optimize existing EIBs, calculated fields, and integration configurations
Post-Implementation Support
• Support initial payroll cycles post-go-live (November-December 2026)
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Conduct knowledge transfer to People Technology team
• Document lessons learned and best practices
• Establish ongoing KTLO processes for long-term integration maintenance

Requirements
Technical Expertise
• 5+ years of experience with Workday integrations, specifically in Payroll and Benefits domains
• Strong hands-on experience with Workday Studio for building custom integrations
• Deep knowledge of Workday PECI (Payroll Effective Change Interface)
• Experience with Workday EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), Workday Core Connectors
• Strong proficiency in creating and maintaining Workday calculated fields and custom reports
• Deep understanding of Ceridian Dayforce APIs (REST and SOAP) including authentication, endpoints, and data models
• Knowledge of Dayforce system architecture and core modules (Payroll, Benefits, Tax, Time & Attendance)
• Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful services, OAuth 2.0, and API security best practices
• Experience with API testing tools (Bruno, Postman, SoapUI) and API documentation
• Proficiency in XML, JSON, XSLT, web services, and API integration patterns
• Understanding of API rate limiting, error handling, and retry mechanisms
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar project management tools
Payroll & Benefits Knowledge
• Strong understanding of US payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Knowledge of benefits administration processes and integrations
• Experience with payroll system implementations and migrations
• Knowledge of payroll data structures, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements for payroll systems
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of Dayforce system settings, workflows, reports and security roles within Dayforce
• Experience with Dayforce Payroll, Time & Attendance modules for North American and EU countries
• Workday certification in Integration, Payroll, or Benefits modules
• Ceridian Dayforce certification or deep hands-on experience
• Knowledge of Workday Orchestrations for Integrations
• Knowledge of Workday Security and business process configurations
• Experience with API gateway solutions and middleware platform
