Roles & Responsibilities

  • Two Year Technical Degree or equivalent industry experience in life safety and/or electronic security systems
  • Strong knowledge of NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm codes, and familiarity with EST fire alarm and ARCS systems
  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify client needs, negotiate and close profitable projects using structured sales processes such as PARTNER Selling
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; able to work independently and in a team

Requirements:

  • Develop and grow a book of business by prospecting primarily Electrical Contractors and pursuing fire alarm/ARCS sales from small commercial and residential construction clients to meet sales targets
  • Identify client needs, prepare quotes and collaterals to provide integrated life safety and ARCS solutions, negotiate and close profitable projects
  • Build trust with clients, manage communications and collaborate with Accounting, Service and Project Operations to serve client needs
  • Monitor sales activity, report bi-weekly, and plan semi-annual/annual goals while expanding revenue channels and territory

Job description

  • Base salary: $75,000 – $115,000 annually
  • Uncapped commission structure: Your earnings grow with your performanceβ€”there is no ceiling!
  • On-target earnings (OTE): $75,000–$145,000 in your first year, with significant growth potential beyond Year 1

Required Education and Experience

  • Two Year Technical Degree or an equivalent of industry experience in life safety and/or electronic security systems required 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and build a book of business using appropriate prospecting strategies with mostly Electrical Contractors 
  • Actively pursue fire alarm system, Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) sales from potential Clients in the small commercial and residential construction industry to meet sales targets.
  • Actively pursue diverse revenue channels from existing Client base and develop new territories.
  • Build trust and rapport with existing and potential Clients.
  • Identify, qualify and assess Client needs to determine suitable products and services.
  • Prepare quote packages and collaterals to provide integrated solutions to help organizations manage their life safety and ARCS needs.
  • Develop, and implement sales strategies; negotiate and close profitable projects.
  • Monitor Client communication and promptly responding to calls and emails.
  • Collaborate with a variety of different departments, such as the Accounting, Service and Project Operations departments and/or other stakeholders to better serve the Clients' needs.
  • Prepare bi-weekly sales activity report, semi-annual and annual goal plans.

 Skills and Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of High Rise Fire (HRF) organizational structure and all department functionalities and workflow
  • Good knowledge of EST fire alarm and ARCS systems products, operation, and functionality
  • Good knowledge of the commercial and residential industry sector
  • Ability to read and interpret life safety systems blueprints and schematics, sequence of operation, job specifications 
  • Good knowledge of value engineering projects
  • Good understanding and application of NYC Building codes and NFPA fire alarm codes
  • Ability to prospect, assess needs, articulate the HRF value proposition and solutions, negotiate and persuade   
  • Functional proficiency in computer office applications including System Manager, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure while preparing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good presentation skills 
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
