Who we are looking for:
 

We are looking for a User-Oriented QA Specialist to join our QA department. As a QA Analyst you will ensure the reliability and performance of our Excel-based reporting and data automation tool. 

You will be responsible for validating complex integrations between Microsoft Excel and leading Cloud ERPs (Acumatica, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 BC). This role is critical in maintaining the trust of our users in their financial data and automated reporting workflows. 

The role involves executing pre-release regression testing and exploratory testing for a sophisticated Excel add-in working with different platforms such as macOS, Windows, and web browsers. While the role is primarily manual testing, candidates interested in developing automation testing with TypeScript would be welcome.   

• End-to-End Testing: Design and execute comprehensive test plans for the Velixo NX cross-platform add-in (Windows, Mac, and Web). 

• Integration Validation: Verify the data integrity and performance of real-time API connections between Excel and supported Cloud ERP systems. 

• Analytical Troubleshooting: Perform deep-dive root cause analysis on complex issues, utilizing review of telemetry logs and API responses. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with the development team in a "Shift-Left" environment, providing quality insights during the early design phases of new features through the specification review process. 
   

• Education: A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or a related quantitative field is required. 

• Excel Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros).  

• API Testing: Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs and OData services using tools like Postman. 

• Modern Tooling: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), and bug tracking in Jira. 
   

• Precision-Oriented: A high "attention to detail" is non-negotiable when dealing with financial reporting software. 

• Critical Thinking: The ability to simulate complex user workflows and anticipate "non-trivial" edge cases. 

• Clear Communicator: Ability to document technical bugs and explain quality risks to stakeholders effectively. 

• Excellent Written English: Ability to deliver clear, concise, and professional technical documentation, bug reports, and test summaries. This is vital for collaborating in our distributed team environment. 

• Proactive Autonomy: We value a self-directed approach where you take full responsibility for your output. You are expected to demonstrate the maturity to independently manage your workstream considering common R&D goals and time-sensitive deadlines. 
   

• ERP/Finance Logic: Basic understanding of General Ledger (GL) concepts or previous experience with ERP systems like Acumatica or Sage. 

• Programming Language: Acquainted with at least one programming language. 

• AI tooling: Experience using AI tools to enhance testing velocity and analysis. 
   

• Full-time for Canadian citizens; for overseas candidates, an hourly arrangement with at least 35 hours / week availability.  

• 100% remote environment with flexible working hours. Your schedule should still be reasonably predictable, and responsiveness in communication is a must. You should be able to provide at least 3 hours’ overlap with the EST (Montreal) time zone.  

• A stable internet connection and videoconferencing capability is required (with camera on).
