Job description

Mission — Why We Need You

Reporting to the Head of VisualCron, the Digital Marketing Manager owns the acquisition funnel for VisualCron, a Windows-based, on-premises automation and task scheduling platform used by thousands of IT, DevOps, and operations teams worldwide.

VisualCron operates on a product-led growth motion — prospective customers discover the product, download a free trial, install it locally, and purchase a license independently, with minimal sales involvement. This critical role leads our acquisition marketing, website design, trial program, and purchase conversion, ensuring that every digital touchpoint effectively attracts, engages, and converts technical evaluators into paying customers. Along the way, you will coordinate with our product and engineering teams, customer support, and external agency partners.

Objectives - The Problems You'll Solve

As a Digital Marketing Manager at VisualCron, you will own the engine that turns awareness into revenue, building and optimizing the paid and organic programs that bring IT professionals, sysadmins, DevOps engineers, and operations teams to our platform and move them from free trial to paid license. The core challenge is a nuanced one: our buyers are technical evaluators who install, test, and validate software independently, and reaching them requires campaigns that speak their language across various channels without losing the precision that a technical audience demands. You will be responsible for driving measurable new customer acquisition, improving trial-to-purchase conversion rates, and scaling marketing programs across multiple channels, all within the distinct constraints of a product-led, self-serve software licensing model. Success here means bridging the gap between a technical audience that discovers and evaluates VisualCron on their own terms and the commercial outcomes that grow our customer base. Alongside these business outcomes, you will be held to a clear set of marketing KPIs spanning traffic growth, paid channel efficiency, trial volume, conversion rates, and others that make your impact visible and progress measurable at each stage of the funnel.

How You'll Get There

In your first month:

  • Onboard and gain a full understanding of the VisualCron product, its capabilities, key automations, and technical buyer personas. Map the current trial-to-activation journey, identifying friction points from download through installation and initial job creation.
  • Assess performance of the current digital acquisition and conversion motion (traffic, trial conversion, install success rate, buying experience), and identify near-term improvement opportunities across channels.
  • Establish relationships across the Head of VisualCron, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Support: the key partners you’ll rely on to improve every stage of the acquisition and conversion funnel.

In your first 3 months…

  • Prioritize and execute the most impactful actions to improve trial conversion, feature discovery, technical onboarding, and purchase readiness. Develop and own the integrated digital marketing strategy for VisualCron, spanning SEO, paid media, retargeting, and email nurture. Plan and execute performance marketing campaigns across paid search and paid social channels.
  • Partner with the team managing the website to strengthen and scale VisualCron.com—improving navigation, trial clarity, download flow, and technical content depth.
  • Implement analytics to monitor the full journey from traffic to download to install to activation then purchase.

In your first 6 months…

  • Build a 12-month roadmap for VisualCron’s digital acquisition engine with milestones across trial volume, conversion rate improvement, channel expansion, and new customer growth.
  • Build and manage pre-purchase email nurture programs that guide trial users through activation milestones, surface relevant use cases, and accelerate free-to-paid conversion.
  • Conduct and maintain ongoing SEO strategy.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to identify early user blockers and translate them into marketing, content, and UX improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaborator: You have excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside Product and Sales to align messaging, surface insights, and drive outcomes.
