Job description

Role Overview:

Genus is building a modern IT function: clear product ownership, reliable platforms, and measurable outcomes for the business. We’re looking for a Product Owner to join our ABS Commercial team and drive ongoing improvement across core operational and commercial processes.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business operations and technology — shaping priorities, turning problems into deliverable work, and ensuring change lands well in the real world. You’ll be supported by an experienced business lead and a multidisciplinary team, with real scope to grow your product capability while taking meaningful ownership from day one.

You Will:

The opportunity
You’ll take ownership of a prioritised improvement backlog focused on making operational and customer-facing processes simpler, faster and more reliable. Working with stakeholders across the business, delivery teams, solution architects and IT analysts, you’ll bring structure to demand, guide trade-offs, and keep work aligned to outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the improvement backlog: manage intake, shape demand, prioritise, and maintain clear roadmap visibility
  • Lead discovery with stakeholders: working with the Analysts, understand how the business operates, identify root causes, and define practical outcomes
  • Translate needs into epics/features/user stories with clear acceptance criteria and measurable success criteria
  • Coordinate delivery within an agile cadence, managing dependencies and keeping stakeholders aligned
  • Partner with architects and engineers to shape solutions that are pragmatic, supportable and scalable
  • Drive adoption: clear communication, readiness planning, feedback loops and continuous improvement
  • Track outcomes and benefits with the Business Stakeholders (what improved, how we measure it, what we do next)
Requirements:

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who can combine operational understanding with the discipline to deliver change through technology. You might come from product ownership, business analysis, process improvement, operations, or a similar background.

  • Experience working with enterprise systems such as ERP and/or CRM, and the confidence to work with data, workflows and process design
  • Exposure to automation technologies (e.g., workflow automation, RPA, low-code, or similar) and how they enable real operational change
  • Proven ability to prioritise, make trade-offs clear, and follow through to delivery and adoption
  • Strong stakeholder management and clear communication — able to align different perspectives and maintain momentum
