Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to ensure PIC product performance and monitor performance opportunities for PIC commercial customers (GTC and reproduction focus).
  • Develop and implement technical plans, information, and initiatives to create value for customers through PIC products, technology, and services.
  • Provide regular technical updates to sales and supply chain teams and tailor customer service plans; help customers realize genetic potential of PIC products.
  • Ensure PIC Biosecurity protocols and standards of conduct are maintained in all interactions with customers and industry partners.

Job description

Role Overview:

PIC (part of Genus PLC) is looking for someone to join our team as a Technical Services Specialist

 

You will report to the Technical Services Manager for Southern Europe and be based in Spain

 

You will be responsible for providing professional service and support in customer systems with a primary target of supporting the customer in reaching and exceeding their targets for biological and financial performance. 

 

You will combine current technical knowledge with practical farm experience, you will help identify opportunity areas, suggest potential action plans and in many cases work side-by-side with customers to implement and realise the target advancements.

You Will:
  • Work with customers help ensure PIC product performance with the GTC and reproduction focus. 
  • Monitor performance levels and help establish and respond to performance opportunities targeted by PIC commercial customers.
  • Develop, with other team members, comprehensive plans, technical information, and initiatives aimed at creating value with customers through PIC products, technology and /or services.
  • Support the sales and supply chain teams with regular technical updates and tailored customer service plans.
  • Help customers realize the genetic potential of PIC products.
  • Ensure PIC Biosecurity protocols are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure standards of conduct in dealing with customers, employees and allied industry in matters relating to social, professional, and ethical obligations
Requirements:
  • A 5-year university education or equivalent in an animal science related field preferred with a minimum of 4 years’ experience within intensive swine production systems required.
  • Ability to evaluate performance and financial information and make informed decisions regarding magnitude and target of opportunities in customer and partner operations.
  • Willing to travel both domestically and internationally, English language essential.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including demonstrated success in leading and developing teams.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to train, lead and influence others to perform at a high level, ability, and disposition to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40-50%.
