Company Description
Our client is a premium UK-based short-term rental operator managing a portfolio of properties across key London and European markets. The business operates across major OTA channels — Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, and VRBO — and is building out the systems, data, and team needed to scale distribution intelligently. This is a high-ownership role at the heart of that buildout.
About the Role
The Data Analyst (Revenue & Distribution) is a commercially-minded, hands-on role sitting at the intersection of analysis, strategy, and execution. Working alongside the Revenue Manager, you will develop deep knowledge of the portfolio, channels, and markets — and use that understanding to generate insight, propose strategic moves, build dashboards that make performance visible, and drive the day-to-day execution that keeps the business moving.
This is not a ticket-processing role. You are expected to think commercially, spot opportunities and risks ahead of the curve, form your own point of view, and bring well-rounded recommendations to the Revenue Manager. Equally, you are expected to close the loop — turning agreed direction into delivered, documented, and tracked outcomes.
The role carries a clear progression path into a managerial role as ownership and depth grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Insight & Strategic Contribution
- Develop a working knowledge of the portfolio, markets, seasonality, and competitor landscape; use it to inform pricing, distribution, and channel-mix decisions.
- Contribute to the distribution roadmap: propose campaigns, channel experiments, listing optimisations, and process improvements with clear commercial rationale.
- Build and defend a point of view on what is working, what is not, and what should be tried next — backed by data.
- Dashboards, Reporting & Performance Visibility
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting packs covering listing health, channel mix, pickup, parity, campaign impact, review scores, and tourist tax compliance.
- Ensure reporting drives decisions — each dashboard should surface what changed, why it matters, and what action is implied.
- Run a clear daily/weekly/monthly reporting cadence and continuously evolve the reporting stack as the business scales.
- Keep Revenue Management, Operations, Sales, Finance, and leadership informed through regular updates, written commentary, and stakeholder briefings.
- OTA & Channel Management
- Own the day-to-day health and performance of all OTA listings across Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, VRBO, or similar aggregated-supply platforms and niche or local channels.
- Lead the operational relationship with OTA account managers; identify and negotiate participation in promotional programmes and visibility initiatives.
- Plan and execute pricing, promotion, and rate-plan changes through PriceLabs and the channel manager (Rentals United, or similar tools where required), in alignment with the Revenue Manager.
- Resolve rate parity issues, listing suppressions, calendar sync errors, and platform health alerts within agreed SLAs.
- Onboarding & Inventory Activation
- Support the technical setup of new properties onto OTA channels — including content, photography review, rate plans, taxes, and parity configuration — to a high standard within target go-live windows. (Note: exact scope of end-to-end onboarding responsibilities to be confirmed with the hiring team.)
- Maintain a live inventory tracker showing the status of every property across every channel, and proactively unblock underperforming listings.
- Process, SOPs & Documentation
- Build and maintain a central SOP repository for the distribution function — every recurring task, configuration change, and OTA workflow documented and current.
- Co-own and maintain the centralised Distribution & Onboarding Operational Register in collaboration with the Onboarding team.
- Log issues, decisions, and actions in ClickUp at the point of work; maintain a visible, prioritised distribution backlog reviewed weekly with the Revenue Manager.
- Identify inefficiencies and manual work; propose and implement automation, templating, or system improvements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Revenue Management to translate pricing strategy into distribution execution, and feed channel performance insight back into pricing decisions.
- Provide accurate, well-framed distribution data and listing-side context to Operations, Sales, Finance, and senior leadership on request.
- Run regular working sessions with adjacent teams to keep cross-departmental priorities aligned and concrete actions in motion.
- KEY DELIVERABLES — FIRST 6 MONTHS
- Identify and deliver at least three distribution initiatives (campaign, channel, listing, or pricing execution) with measurable uplift in revenue, occupancy, or ADR.
- Improve OTA listing health scores to at or above platform benchmark across the portfolio.
- Achieve and sustain rate parity and full OTA activation across all live properties.
- Build out a distribution reporting suite covering listing health, channel mix, campaign impact, pickup, and review performance — segmented by property and market.
- Establish a weekly insight cadence with the Revenue Manager: interpretation and recommended actions, not just numbers.
- Deliver monthly distribution updates to senior stakeholders that explain why performance moved, not just what moved.
- 100% of agreed rate, promotion, and configuration changes executed within 24 hours of decision.
- 100% of new properties technically configured and live across all eligible channels within the agreed onboarding SLA.
- Zero unresolved rate-parity breaches older than 48 hours.
- Every recurring distribution task documented as an SOP within the first 90 days.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience as a Data Analyst in a revenue, distribution, or commercial function. Candidates must have worked in an OTA, marketplace, or aggregated-supply platform business such as Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, VRBO, Bproperty, Pathao, Uber, FoodPanda, ShareTrip, or similar platforms.
- Commercial awareness — understands how pricing, distribution, and demand interact, and can read a P&L-relevant data set.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills: pivots, lookups, conditional logic, data cleaning, and dashboard building.
- Excellent written English communication; able to produce clear SOPs, insight commentary, and stakeholder updates.
- Demonstrated discipline in documentation, task tracking, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with channel management tools such as Rentals United, SiteMinder, or similar platforms preferred.
- ClickUp proficiency is highly preferred; equivalent project management or task-tracking tool experience is acceptable.
- Familiarity with short-term rental regulations or tourist tax frameworks is a plus.
- Behavioural Profile
- Commercially curious: wants to understand the business, not just the task.
- Creative and strategic-leaning: brings ideas, options, and recommendations — not just observations.
- Delivery-led: takes a decision and ships it within the deadline; closes loops.
- Disciplined documenter: writes things down by default; nothing lives only in their head.
- Detail-obsessed on listing accuracy, rate parity, and data quality.
- Proactive communicator: surfaces blockers early with options attached, not open questions.
- Comfortable being measured on both insight quality and on-time delivery.
