Job description

This is a remote position.

Seeking a senior architect who can help modernize a large, business-critical .NET/Azure platform without a big-bang rewrite. The right person must be hands-on enough to review code and architecture decisions, but senior enough to work with CTO/CIO-level stakeholders. The mission is to help move from a tightly coupled monolithic environment toward a more modular, scalable, resilient architecture while keeping the business running.

Key responsibilities:

Assess current architecture, dependencies, service boundaries, data flows, and operational bottlenecks.
Define practical modernization roadmap: what to stabilize now, what to decouple, what to defer.
Help identify bounded contexts and service boundaries across quote, rate, policy, claims, customer, notification, document, and product management capabilities.
Provide architecture guardrails for .NET, Azure, APIs, data access, integration, observability, security, and release readiness.
Partner with engineering leads, DB specialists, DevOps, QA, and product stakeholders.
Translate architecture decisions into business impact: speed, risk, scalability, compliance, cost, and operational resilience.
Review technical designs and prevent new technical debt during modernization.

Requirements
