Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for preconstruction efforts within the NexGen In-Plant and Special Projects Business Unit, including scope/schedule information, coordinating with estimators and project teams, obtaining pricing from subs/vendors, building and reviewing final estimates, creating bid forms and scope letters, and tracking progress of pursuing projects
  • Prepare detailed in-plant industrial construction, maintenance, and special project estimates by calculating labor, equipment, and material costs and applying knowledge of construction processes and materials
  • Review data and drawings to determine material and labor requirements, compute cost factors, and prepare itemized estimates; coordinate with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates; maintain bid lists and contact information
  • Operate in a hybrid role with travel up to 50%; manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Position Overview

This position serves as the primary point of contact for all preconstruction efforts within the NexGen In-Plant and Special Projects Business Unit. Responsibilities range from initial contact with the customer for scope/schedule information, coordinating with other estimators and project teams, reaching out to subs/vendors for pricing, building and reviewing final estimates, creating bid forms and scope letters for final submittals, and maintaining progress status of all projects that the organization is pursuing.

 

In-Plant Industrial Estimator - Responsible for preparing detailed estimates for in-plant industrial construction, maintenance, and special projects. This includes calculating labor, equipment, and material costs for various activities. A strong understanding of construction processes and materials is essential, along with experience in developing precise cost estimates.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management OR a minimum of ten years’ experience in the construction industry, along with a minimum of five years of experience in estimating industrial construction / maintenance projects.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to balance and prioritize workload amongst several different opportunities at one time

  • Hybrid role that is expected to Travel up to 50%.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  • Reviews data and drawings to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists of cost estimates.
  • Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, change order pricing, vendors or subcontractors’ agreement, and determining cost effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with customers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Interaction with subcontractors and vendors to help maintain bid list and contact information.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear.  They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.  Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

 

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled.  Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations.  Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud.   Overtime will be required.  Local and National travel to projects will be required.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
