NexGen is looking to add a Site Safety Technician at our Irving, TX location. This is a traveling role.

Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

· Enforce the use of safety equipment/clothing as required by OSHA, company safety regulations, and customer requirements.

· Reinforce that team members on the project site are in compliance with the safety requirements of NexGen.

· Ensure that appropriate safety records are maintained.

· Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion.

· Investigate cause of an incident and complete reports as required.

· Assist Site Manager in administrative counseling to team members and trade partners who are in non-compliance with safety requirements.

· Hold safety meetings/jobsite review as part of coordination meetings.

· Responsible for conducting daily safety meetings.

· Responsible for conducting orientation and jobsite specific training.

· Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of NexGen’s safety program on site.

· Other duties may be assigned.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Appropriate protective measures will be provided. Overtime may be required.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirectly manages trade partner safety personnel.
