A Day in the Life

This role will require 20% travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. ​

         

         

The Associate Marketing Specialist works on the planning and implementation of projects that support the Marketing Function for Medtronic Surgical.  In this role you would interact directly with product managers to assist in identifying new marketing opportunities and respond to questions from the sales organization.  To do well in the position, you must be able to work individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling, planning projects, estimating costs, and assisting in managing projects to completion.  Additional responsibilities focus on assisting with market development and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement. In your close partnership with product managers and cross-functional partners, you’ll be part of executing programs, supporting the sales organization and helping to ensure seamless coordination of marketing activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys highly detail-oriented work, coordination of Marketing activities, and managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to a Senior Manager overseeing a cross-collaborative team that works closely with Product Marketing and Market Development. The role is designed to enable upward mobility within the organization as appropriate.

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development of marketing collateral and promotions for specific product(s) or product line(s).
  • Assists with coordination of product planning, product launches, product management, market development and market research activities.
  • Interacts directly with product managers to assist in identifying new marketing opportunities.
  • Works with a team in recommending action, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion.
  • Assist in managing ongoing KOL relationships by supporting communications, scheduling, and follow-ups
  • Coordinate process of physician contracts by facilitating submission of project request forms.
  • Assist with coordination of internal and external events including product launch celebrations/kick-offs, Town Hall meetings, symposiums, trade shows/congresses and other programs.
  • Be proactive in improving general operations and processes for the Marketing Department.
  • Assist in the development of various marketing tools and collateral.
  • Travel requirement, approximately 20%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or Marketing
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in marketing, event coordination, or administrative/project support
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience coordinating logistics, managing timelines, and supporting cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry
  • Experience working with vendors, agencies, or external partners

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$62,400.00 - $93,600.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
