THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of our Corporate Governance team based in Sydney, you will support the effective running of Board and Committee processes across the EML Group. This role offers a rare opportunity to step into a CoSec pathway, working closely with senior leaders while building the foundations to progress into a Company Secretary role.

As an Assistant Company Secretary, you will support corporate governance and secretariat functions across the EML Group. Working closely with the Head of Corporate Compliance and Legal Counsel, you will coordinate Board and Committee activities, support regulatory obligations and help maintain strong governance practices across the organisation.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a structured, detail-focused environment, with a clear pathway to develop into a Company Secretary role over time.


This will be a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 2 days per week).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and coordinate Board and Committee materials, including agendas, papers and presentations
  • Attend meetings, take accurate minutes and track actions through to completion
  • Support statutory reporting and regulatory lodgements (including ASIC and APRA)
  • Maintain governance records, registers and filing systems in line with compliance requirements
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, including scheduling, stakeholders and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of governance processes and frameworks

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a company secretariat, governance, legal or compliance environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • High attention to detail, particularly across documentation and reporting
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders and build relationships
  • Understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory environments (ASIC/APRA desirable)
