Job description

Overview:

Advanced Technologies & Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) is hiring a Communication Specialist to work on a cross functional, multi-disciplinary team to support the successful transition of a health plan contract and to enhance the overall member experience and education. Services will focus on ensuring clear, timely, and effective communication with members, integrating email services into the current process before, during, and after transition. The transition to a new health care administrator presents significant operational and communications challenges that directly impact member understanding, satisfaction, and trust. During this critical period, it is essential to have dedicated expertise to ensure members are informed, supported, and confident in their continued access to care and services. The successful candidate will develop a communication strategy plan for both internal and external partners to communicate health plan changes and the changes that members will need to know and act on.

 

On July 1, 2011, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), WTC Health Program was established as a federal health care program to provide medical monitoring and treatment for eligible members in accordance with the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010. On December 18, 2015, President Obama signed the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act which reauthorized the WTC Health Program for 75 years, ending in 2090.

The contractor is to maintain a healthy organizational culture in providing consistent and professional communication and services to WTC Health Program clients including health care beneficiaries and health care providers, the contractor shall participate in the occasionally held lunch/learn and other training sessions regarding WTC Health Program organizational culture.

 

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop Executive Summaries
  • Understand and support urgent timeline associated with contract transitions
  • Develop and execute strategic communications plan
  • Audit and improve existing member communication
  • Design and develop new member-facing materials
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication activities
  • Implement feedback mechanisms and integrate services with existing eNews contract
  • Perform technical edits, QA checks, and 508 compliance reviews on publications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Masters degree in related field, such as digital marketing/communications/public affairs
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in strategic communication, including development of communication plan, marketing, writing, stakeholder engagement, etc.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; comfortable working with deadlines or juggling multiple tasks at any given time
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, both technical and plain-language
  • Ability to perform detailed technical edits on short or lengthy documents
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Experience with managing Section 508 compliance efforts, including basic 508 knowledge, 508 tagging, and Adobe Acrobat accessibility tools
  • Experience with Stakeholder Management and contract transitions
  • Health plan knowledge
