Job Role: Bookkeeper

Compensation range: $750 AUD - $900 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to require roughly 15-20 hours per week. As a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your schedule, but availability for occasional collaboration during AU business hours is preferred.

Who The Client Is: We work across residential and commercial design projects, helping bring ideas to life in a practical and visually appealing way. We partner closely with our clients to understand their needs and guide each project from early concepts through to final delivery.

Our work covers everything from planning and design through to documentation and coordination, ensuring projects run smoothly and meet all necessary requirements. We focus on balancing creativity with real-world functionality, so the end result not only looks good but works well too.

Role Overview: We’re seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to support our financial operations on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and confident managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including handling both payables and receivables. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records
  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP): process invoices, verify expenses, and manage supplier payments
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): issue invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain and update general ledger entries
  • Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal processes
  • Support payroll processing and other ad hoc finance tasks as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
  • Solid experience managing both AP and AR functions
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Clear communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that may be set up as either an independent contractor engagement or via an Employer of Record (EOR), depending on client preferences and legal structure.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Be available for meetings and collaboration during core [AEST or PHT] business hours
  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor” if not employed via EOR)
