Position Available: Senior AU Bookkeeper
Location: Remote; Sri Lanka
Hours: Full-time - 5:30am - 1:30pm, IST Colombo time

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll, managing client accounts, taxation and ensuring accurate financial reporting. You will play a key role in delivering excellent client service by helping clients stay compliant and confident in their finances, while also supporting management with timely, reliable reports to guide strategic decision-making.

Your main responsibilities:

• End-to-end Bookkeeping: You have good practical bookkeeping experience, mainly using Xero, and are confident working within the platform. You may also have some exposure to MYOB or QuickBooks. You understand the full bookkeeping process and can review a file, understand its status, and begin working on it with strong accuracy and attention to detail. 
• Preparation of Financial Statements: You have working knowledge in Australian tax accounting, including assisting with Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements for Companies, Trusts, Individuals, and Partnerships. You are familiar with the preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS. 
• Payroll processing: You have a solid understanding of Australian payroll requirements, including Superannuation, payroll tax, and PAYG. You are experienced in processing payroll using Xero, Employment Hero, and similar platforms, ensuring accuracy in each pay run by correctly managing payroll settings. 
• AR & AP processing: You have experience using tools such as Hubdoc and Dext to manage client documents. You are comfortable processing invoices, bills, and expenses, and understand how these transactions affect accounts and financial reports. 
• Client management: You are organised, able to manage your workload independently, and comfortable communicating directly with clients to obtain required documents and information. You approach client queries in a professional and structured manner. 
• Regulatory Compliance and control : You have experience supporting compliance with Australian accounting standards, assisting with BAS/IAS lodgements, and maintaining accurate and reliable financial records and reports. 

What your profile will look like:

• Must have - Minimum 4+ years experience: Demonstrable experience as a Bookkeeper.
• Must have - Strong communication skills: Fluent written & oral English skills.
• Must have - Ability of quickly grasping taxation training concepts
• Must have - Australian client experience: Experience working in bookkeeping for Australian companies or clients, is a must.
• Must have -Degree in Finance or Accounting and Qualified in CIMA, CMA, ACCA, or CA
• Must-Have – Strong Internet Connection:Stable fiber connectivity with a minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps.
