  • Emergency Dispatching: Receive and dispatch same-day urgent deliveries in coordination with the Customer Experience and Delivery Support teams.

Job description

Position Summary:   

The Logistics Coordinator supports the safe and efficient movement of bulk fuel and cylinder exchange deliveries by combining analytical planning with real‑time operational coordination. This role is responsible for planning and building optimal daily delivery routes. As the primary point of contact for drivers in the field, the Logistics Coordinator access or routing issues as they arise and makes necessary adjustments to keep deliveries on track. In addition, this role partners closely with Area Management, providing insights on workload patterns and demand trends to support effective resource planning. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and clear communication with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities include: 

    Routing & Scheduling: Build efficient daily delivery routes and make real‑time adjustments based on operational needs.

    Route Optimization: Optimize route schedules and delivery sequence to reduce mileage, improve travel times, and uphold service standards.

    Driver Support: Serve as drivers’ primary contact while in the field; resolve field obstacles (access, directions, weather impacts).

    Emergency Dispatching: Receive and dispatch same‑day urgent deliveries in coordination with the Customer Experience and Delivery Support teams.

    Demand Forecasting: Analyze customer usage data to project short-term demand and determine optimal delivery intervals.

    Failure Prevention: Identify potential service risks early and act to prevent service failures or out‑of‑gas events.

    Operational Communication: Share demand insights with Area Management to inform resource allocation decisions.

    Performance Monitoring: Track key routing metrics and use insights to refine routing strategies and planning processes.

    Reporting: Prepare and deliver insights on route efficiency, delivery performance, and operational status.

    Compliance & Safety: Understand and uphold all company policies and applicable regulations related to the safe transport of liquid fuel products.


Desired Skills and Experience:

    2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatch operations required (fuel/propane industry experience preferred).

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and demand trends.

    Demonstrated ability to make timely, sound decisions in fast‑changing conditions.

    Clear, professional communication skills; effective with drivers, leadership, and cross‑functional teams.

    Proven problem‑solving ability to identify risks, troubleshoot field issues, and implement preventive actions.

    Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple time‑sensitive tasks.

    Experience with routing/dispatch software (e.g., ADDs or similar) preferred.

    Familiarity with fleet telematics and reporting tools (Samsara or similar, Power BI or similar) preferred.

    Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable federal/state regulations for hazardous materials and fuel transport preferred.

    Availability Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work weekends or overtime as needed during peak seasons.
