Application Specialist - Infor Lawson (IPA)

Superlanet is seeking an experienced Application Specialist with deep expertise in Infor Lawson and IPA Development to support our healthcare client in Southern California. This individual will act as a subject matter expert, working independently to lead cross-functional initiatives, optimize system performance, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. This is a remote, 7 month contract. 

This role requires a strong blend of technical development, functional workflow understanding, and business process alignment across HR, Supply Chain, and Accounts Payable domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the application subject matter expert for Infor Lawson and IPA development
  
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive performance improvements across multiple business domains
  
• Translate business requirements into technical and operational solutions
  
• Analyze and enhance existing system workflows, recommending best practices and improvements
  
• Review and interpret legacy COBOL programs, identifying current functionality and enhancement opportunities
  
• Modify and update existing COBOL scripts to support new workflow requirements
  
• Convert or redesign COBOL-based logic into IPA workflows where applicable
  
• Partner with business stakeholders to resolve technical and process-related challenges
  
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior IT staff
  
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, scalability, and long-term system strategy
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in application support and development
  
• Strong expertise in Infor Lawson IPA Development
  
• Functional knowledge of:
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
    
  • Supply Chain
    
  • Payroll / HR systems
    
• Solid understanding of Lawson data structures, including fields, tables, and screens supporting core business processes
  
• Experience working with or modifying COBOL-based applications
  
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead initiatives
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare environments, ideally with large health systems
  
• Prior experience modernizing legacy systems or transitioning from COBOL to newer workflow tools
  
• Strong project management and organizational skills
