Job description

This is a remote position.

This is a full-time contract position offering a daily rate. We are looking for an experienced professional to drive the strategy and delivery of core DevOps products within a large-scale enterprise platform. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between high-level stakeholder needs and technical execution, ensuring the development team delivers maximum value through a well-defined and prioritised backlog.

English is the only language requirement. Only occasional onsite visits to Germany.


Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to align project goals and ensure transparency across the programme.

  • Specification & Backlog Management: Gather insights from across the product flow to translate complex needs into clear specifications, features, and user stories.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and scope of work, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and technical guidelines.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with system architects and other product lines to integrate CI/CD and registry tools seamlessly into the wider platform.

  • Proactive Prioritisation: Evaluate customer needs against engineering complexity to make informed decisions on backlog items, balancing feasibility with stakeholder expectations.

  • Development Life Cycle Oversight: Manage the end-to-end development cycle by consulting with internal teams and translating requirements into actionable engineering tasks.



Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Product Owner within complex, scalable platform environments.

  • Proven ability to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and manage a robust product backlog.

  • Strong background in agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.

  • Technical proficiency with DevOps practices, the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and CI/CD tools.

  • Experience with Registry and Artifactory management solutions.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate technical alignment across diverse teams.

  • Proficiency in documentation and project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

  • A fundamental understanding of Kubernetes, IAM, and observability tools is preferred.

  • Experience with UI-driven developer portals or mission-critical systems is a plus.

  • Fluent English in speech and writing.

  • Eligibility Residency in the EU, EEC, UK, or Switzerland.
