Medical / Clinical Director
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract (Part-Time)
Salary: $200-225/HR


The Medical / Clinical Director will provide clinical leadership and oversight for External Quality Review (EQR) activities supporting the Department of Medical Services (DMS). This role ensures clinical integrity across quality review initiatives and provides expert guidance on healthcare delivery, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement efforts related to Medicaid and Medicare programs.
This position is ideal for a physician seeking part-time leadership work, including recent retirees or professionals interested in contributing to healthcare quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for EQR activities and quality review initiatives.
  • Serve as a clinical advisor to DMS and support decision-making related to healthcare quality, compliance, and program outcomes.
  • Review clinical data, performance metrics, and program outcomes to support healthcare quality improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with operational and quality teams to evaluate healthcare programs and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Provide guidance on clinical best practices related to Medicaid and Medicare programs.
  • Participate in meetings, presentations, and discussions with leadership and regulatory stakeholders as needed.
  • Support the development of clinical review methodologies and healthcare quality improvement strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) with board certification.
  • Unrestricted medical license to practice medicine.
  • Experience working with Medicare or Medicaid programs or within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting External Quality Review Organizations (EQRO) or healthcare quality improvement programs.
  • Experience working with state Medicaid programs or healthcare regulatory agencies.
  • Background in clinical quality review, healthcare policy, or healthcare program oversight.
