ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our Client is a plumbing service provider located in Queensland, Australia, serving Brisbane and surrounding areas, including the Gold Coast. They are known for delivering reliable and professional plumbing solutions to both residential and commercial clients.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Estimator will take full ownership of the estimating function across a mix of residential and commercial plumbing projects. This role is responsible for completing accurate take-offs, building and maintaining pricing models in Buildxact, and ensuring cost control through precise data management.

The role focuses on internal costing accuracy rather than final client-facing quote sign-off, ensuring all estimates are reliable, structured, and aligned with project budgets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete end-to-end take-offs from plans and drawings
Build and maintain accurate pricing models in Buildxact
Ensure all costings are aligned with current rates and project requirements
Maintain high accuracy of data and inputs within Buildxact
Monitor and manage cost control within estimates
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for internal use
Support pricing consistency across multiple projects

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

3–5 years experience in estimating (construction/trade preferred)

Systems:

Microsoft Excel (Advanced and to be able to use Macros and build our full book of rates)
Microsoft Office
BuildXact (Nice ot have)

Core Skills:

Strong take-off capability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong numerical and cost analysis skills
Ability to build and manage pricing models
Understanding of construction workflows (plumbing highly desirable)

Non-Negotiables

Plumbing industry experience (Strong understading of Hydraulic drawings)
Proven experience using Buildxact
Ability to complete full end-to-end estimating
Strong accuracy and attention to detail
Experience working with take-offs and pricing models

Nice to Have

Exposure to Australian construction standards
Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
