Role: QA Engineer
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)

Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in LATAM Countries)

Project Description

• Quality Engineering & Test Execution
• Execute comprehensive testing cycles including functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing across web applications (including responsive/mobile views).
• Validate REST APIs using Postman, leveraging environments, dynamic collections, and scripting for robust test coverage.
• Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring clear reproduction steps and effective resolution

Duties/Day to Day Overview

• Automation & Framework Development
• Architect, maintain, and scale end-to-end (E2E) automated test frameworks using Playwright.
• Develop clean, maintainable automation scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation and faster feedback loops.
• Performance & Reliability Testing
• Design and execute performance, load, and stress testing to ensure system stability under high-traffic conditions.
• Utilize tools such as Gatling (preferred) or similar frameworks to validate scalability of media workflows and real-time systems.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and partner with engineering teams to optimize system behavior.
• Agile Collaboration & Quality Advocacy
• Participate in Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, and Refinement sessions to ensure stories are testable and meet Definition of Ready (DoR).
• Define and validate Acceptance Criteria to ensure clarity and completeness before development begins.
• Collaborate with developers to debug issues, reproduce defects, and verify fixes.
• Quality Strategy & Continuous Improvement
• Apply shift-left testing practices, identifying risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Design comprehensive test strategies and plans that account for system dependencies, edge cases, and integration points.
• Track and report key QA metrics such as defect escape rate, test coverage, and automation effectiveness.
• Champion best practices aligned with the Testing Pyramid, balancing unit, integration, and E2E testing.

Top Requirements

Core Requirements

• Proven experience in Quality Assurance (QA) with a strong focus on web-based applications.
• Advanced proficiency in API testing using Postman.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright.
• Strong experience with performance, load, and stress testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for automation development.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Desirable / Plus

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
• Experience testing media platforms, video workflows, or real-time data systems.
• Exposure to responsive/mobile testing (browser-based mobile simulation).
• Knowledge of additional performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).
