D365 F&O Technical Functional Consultant / Solution Architect

A fast-growing managed services provider and startup focused on delivering ERP solutions for M&A-driven initiatives within Fortune 500 organizations is seeking a D365 F&O Technical Functional Consultant / Solution Architect.

This is a senior, high-impact role for someone who operates at the intersection of business and technology, with the ability to lead solution design, integrations, and ERP transformation initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders, functional teams, and developers to deliver scalable, high-performing D365 Finance & Operations solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture, design, and implementation for D365 Finance & AX projects
  
• Conduct Fit/Gap analysis and define scalable ERP solutions aligned to business needs
  
• Translate requirements into functional and technical designs (FDDs/TDDs)
  
• Drive business process improvements across finance and operations
  

Financial Systems Focus:

• Design and implement financial processes including:
  • General Ledger
    
  • Accounts Payable / Receivable
    
  • Fixed Assets
    
  • Cash Management
    
• Provide guidance on system optimization and best practices
  

Technical & Integration Leadership:

• Design and oversee integrations using OData, REST APIs, Azure Logic Apps, and custom services
  
• Collaborate with developers on customizations and extensions (X++)
  
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and performance-driven
  

Data & Migration Strategy:

• Lead data mapping, transformation planning, and migration efforts
  
• Oversee data entities, validation, and migration execution
  
• Support data analysis and alignment with business strategy
  

Delivery & Support:

• Collaborate with developers, BAs, PMs, and stakeholders
  
• Support UAT, deployment planning, and post-go-live stabilization
  
• Provide training and change management support
  

System Optimization:

• Troubleshoot performance, integration, and system issues
  
• Support environment management and release cycles
  
• Continuously improve system performance and usability
  

Requirements

Required:

• Proven experience as a D365 F&O Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, or Sr. Functional Consultant
  
• Strong experience with full lifecycle ERP implementations (AX & D365)
  
• Deep expertise in financial modules and business processes
  
• Experience with integrations (OData, REST APIs, Azure services, Logic Apps)
  
• Strong understanding of data migration (DMF, data entities, mapping)
  
• Ability to create and own Functional & Technical Design Documents (FDDs/TDDs)
  
• Working knowledge of X++ and system extensions
  
• Experience with SQL, SSRS, and reporting tools
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  

Preferred:

• Microsoft Certification: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
  
• Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  
• Familiarity with security roles and environment configurations
  
• Industry experience in Finance, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing
  
• Exposure to Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field
  
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance / AX
  
• Proven track record delivering large-scale ERP implementations
  
• Previous experience working within a Managed Service Provider/IT Service Provider environment

Additional Requirements:

• Must be U.S.-based (no sponsorship available)
  
• Ability to travel up to 10% if needed
  
• Fully remote (EST/CST preferred)
  
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
