Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree; 10+ years of proven success in Business Development and/or Sales, Partnerships/Alliances at an enterprise B2B SaaS company
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder who enjoys networking and collaboration; self-starter with proactive mindset
  • Experience with industry standard sales technology/tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office Suite, SalesLoft) and leveraging AI solutions in day-to-day work; Life Sciences industry experience is a plus

Requirements:

  • Execute the Established Strategic Partnership Framework, including ecosystem categorization, scoring, and tiering, and design programs and optimize partnership agreements to maximize revenue impact
  • Proactively identify, research, and engage potential alliance and partnership opportunities; act as a hunter to build a robust pipeline
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with partner stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact
  • Coordinate cross-functional program management to launch, manage, and optimize partner initiatives, track milestones and outcomes, and provide data-informed strategic insights to improve engagement, performance, and scalability

Overview

Model N is seeking a Director, Strategic Partnerships to help build, manage, and scale meaningful external relationships that drive mutual growth. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who combines strong project management skills, strategic relationship management acumen, subject-matter-expertise and an appreciation for the power of a partner ecosystem to unlock organizational revenue growth.

This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape how we approach alliances and partnerships on the commercial side of the business. The Director, Strategic Partnerships will gain hands-on exposure to strategy, relationship building, and cross-functional execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Execution of Established Strategic Partnership Framework
    • Categorization, scoring and tiering of our existing partner ecosystem
    • Prioritized engagement designed to maximize revenue impact
    • Program design and partnership agreement optimization
  • Partner Identification & Development
    • Proactively identify, research, and engage potential alliance and partnership opportunities.
    • Act as a “hunter,” initiating new conversations and building pipeline for strategic partnerships.
  • Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with partner stakeholders.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact, ensuring partners feel supported, informed, and aligned.
  • Program & Project Management
    • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to launch, manage, and optimize partner initiatives.
    • Track milestones, deliverables, and outcomes to ensure partnerships move forward effectively and drive revenue results.
  • Strategic Support
    • Contribute thoughtful, data-informed insights to help shape the evolving partnerships strategy.
    • Identify opportunities to improve partner engagement, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams to align partner efforts with commercial goals.
    • Communicate clearly and consistently with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required and 10+ years of proven success in Business Development and/or Sales, Partnerships/Alliances at an enterprise B2B SaaS company
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives at once.
  • Naturally curious, thoughtful, and strategic-minded, with an interest in understanding the “why” behind decisions.
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder who enjoys networking and collaboration.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and comfort operating in evolving or ambiguous environments.
  • Experience using industry standard sales technology/tools (e.g. Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office Suite, SalesLoft, etc.)
  • Experience leveraging AI solutions in the day-to-day working environment (e.g.ChatGPT, Claude, CoPilot, etc.)
  • Experience in the Life Sciences Industry a plus
  • Comfortable working in a remote workplace with the ability to travel to prospective partners, company events and meetings

 At Model N we offer fair, equitable and competitive salary ranges for all positions. Compensation varies depending on factors that may include a candidate’s relevant experience, education and/or certifications, location, training, and other skills.
 
The base salary for this position will be $175,000-$220,000.  If your salary expectations are outside of this range, feel free to apply and discuss your expectations with our recruiters.  We are constantly opening up new positions, and you might match another opening at a different level.
