Roles & Responsibilities

  • Minimum 3 years' experience translating client requirements into a wide range of graphics/designs for digital and print, preferably in a similarly sized/paced creative agency
  • Strong portfolio across multiple media (digital/interactive, video, social, branding, packaging, books/magazines, advertising, experiential, signage) that demonstrates ability to inspire and communicate messages
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint); knowledge of After Effects/Premier Pro and 3D tools (Blender or Cinema 4D) is beneficial but not essential; web tech not required
  • Artwork/production readiness with UI/UX understanding; ability to take client briefs and deliver high-quality work with limited rounds of amendments

Requirements:

  • Support the Design Director/Senior Designer from concept to delivery: interrogate briefs, participate in brainstorming, develop and present original design concepts, amend work based on feedback, proofread, and coordinate with the Creative Artworker to produce production-ready artwork across a range of projects
  • Create and deliver high-quality design across digital, social, print and motion, translating the creative vision into concepts that meet client requirements and brand standards
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines, maintain strong relationships with internal teams and clients, stay ahead of design trends, and provide creative direction as needed
  • Personal development and agency growth: allocate 20% of time to upskilling, contribute to case studies/work shares/testimonials, and support client acquisition and propositions with the marketing team

Job description

ROLE PURPOSE


To produce well designed, impactful, and thought-provoking creative solutions for our clients. To interpret and implement the creative vision across a broad range of projects ranging from digital, social, print, and motion.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


Supporting the Design Director and/or Senior Designer to take the design project through from conception to delivery:


 Interrogate, question, and understand client briefs and project requirements


 Partake in regular brainstorming meetings and creative sessions with the team


 Develop and deliver design concepts - by software or by hand - that accurately and precisely deliver the requirements


 Present options for design treatments that are original, creative ‘clever’ and executed to the highest standard


 Amend designs according to feedback from both internal teams and the client themselves


 Proofread and prepare designs ready for use


 Where required, brief the Creative Artworker and work with them to turn your concepts into workable artwork files


 Be involved in, and balance the needs of, a wide range of projects and executions, with timelines ranging from the immediate to the long term



In addition, you have responsibility for:


 Personal development. – 20% of your time will be spent on personal development to include strengthening your skills, keep up to date with the latest technologies/trends and on the job training.


 Agency growth
o Support the team with communicating our learnings and successes both internally and externally (i.e. by contributing to case studies, work shares and
testimonials).
o Work with the internal marketing team to deliver design work for agency marketing (i.e. images for use on the blog and social media channels)


 Client acquisition
o Identifying opportunities to grow existing client accounts
o Support the wider team with the creation of propositions

Requirements


Experience


You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of translating requirements into a wide array of graphics/designs that inspire and attract the relevant target audience and communicate the right message. Ideally, this will have been at a similarly sized and/or paced creative agency, although you may have acquired relevant experience working as part of an internal studio team or freelance. Your portfolio demonstrates your experience of designing for multiple digital and traditional medias such as digital/interactive, video, social, branding, creative writing, presentations, packaging, books & magazines, advertising, experiential, exhibitions, signage and displays.


Qualifications & Achievements


You may have a related qualification, but this is not a requirement of the job. Rather, we are looking for someone who


 Has the required working knowledge of industry standard software packages (see Knowledges, Skills & Abilities section below)


 Has a strong, design background and is comfortable (and enjoys) applying it to digital and print related projects


 Can take a client brief and interpret and implement the creative vision across a broad range of projects ranging from digital, social, print and motion


 Produces a high standard of work with less than two rounds of amends


 Demonstrate the ability of creative thinking and original idea generation


 Builds good working relationships with, and receives positive feedback from, key stakeholders


 Brings fresh ideas and approaches by combining cultural awareness with an enquiring mind


 Has a great attitude with a thirst to learn, take direction, and develop



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


 A multi-skilled designer with experience across a range of disciplines – online & offline, static & moving image and branding.


 Knowledge of industry standard software packages
o A good working knowledge of the core Adobe Creative Cloud applications - to include Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD – and Microsoft Office applications – to include PowerPoint.
o Practical knowledge of After Effects and Premier Pro for video editing and animation would be beneficial but not essential
o Practical knowledge of Blender or Cinema 4D for 3D modelling and animation would be a nice to have but is not essential
o Although we’re looking for someone with digital design experience, experience of WordPress/HTML5/CSS3 is not required


 Although not an artworker, artworking knowledge and the ability to see a project through from start to finish is essential.


 An in depth understanding for designing for both UI & UX


 An understanding of how print and pixel can work together
