Job description

Michael Sullivan & Associates LLP is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant with workers' compensation experience to join our team in Orange County. The Legal Assistant maintains a close professional relationship with attorneys and manages their day-to-day activities. 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Legal Assistant: 

  • provides administrative and clerical support to one or more attorneys and the Office Supervisor
  • prepares correspondence and simple to moderately complex legal documents
  • schedules medical appointments
  • proofreads documents for spelling and grammar
  • organizes and maintains files
  • screens telephone calls and visitors
  • reads and responds to mail.

Skills & Experience 

Requirements: 

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate OR Bachelor's Degree
  • at least two years’ of workers' compensation experience
  • strong written and oral communication
  • highly organized
  • MS Word proficiency
  • type 50 wpm
  • demonstrable ability to maintain confidentiality
