Requirements:

  • Maintain payer contracts and charge master data within the EMR to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Serve as a secondary Kipu Health subject matter expert; train staff and troubleshoot workflow issues; support implementation and optimization of Kipu billing modules.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Clinical, and Operations teams to secure documentation for accurate billing and assist with audit preparation and compliance.

As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Full-Time Billing & Revenue Cycle Coordinator to serve as a key contributor to the organization’s revenue cycle operations. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for executing billing workflows, supporting Kipu EMR system maintenance, and coordinating documentation across internal teams.

Our ideal candidate is a technical “power user” who can identify operational gaps, monitor performance metrics, and help ensure strong alignment between our billing vendor and internal teams to support efficient billing processes and maximize collections.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Cycle Operations

  • Support revenue cycle performance by monitoring KPIs, identifying billing gaps, denial trends, and admission-to-billing bottlenecks
  • Manage day-to-day oversight of the A/R aging report and coordinate with the billing vendor to resolve discrepancies and improve collections
  • Ensure authorized days and utilization review data are accurately reflected in claims submissions
  • Maintain payer contracts and charge master data within the EMR to ensure billing accuracy

EMR & Systems (Kipu Health)

  • Serve as a secondary subject matter expert for Kipu, helping train staff and troubleshoot workflow issues
  • Support implementation and optimization of Kipu billing modules to ensure seamless data flow from admission through payment
  • Review automated workflows and identify opportunities to streamline manual processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Admissions, Clinical, and Operations teams to secure documentation needed for accurate billing and clean claim submission
  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation as needed
  • Provide hands-on billing support (claims submission, payment posting) during peak periods or system transitions

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare billing, behavioral health billing, or revenue cycle management
  • Experience working within an EMR and/or practice management system (Kipu or similar preferred)
  • Knowledge of insurance billing processes, payment posting, and denial management
  • Understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Operational Reliability: Highly responsive, adequately prepared, and maintains strict professional boundaries.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in tracking KPIs, denials, and reimbursement variances.
  • Experience in telehealth or multi-state billing environments preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
