Roles & Responsibilities

Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network switches, wireless access points, and related infrastructure
Proficiency with power connections and with optical (fiber) and copper cabling, including terminations, labeling, and testing
Strong understanding of basic network concepts and protocols (Layer 2/3, ICMP, DHCP, ARP, STP, MAC learning, VLANs, IPv4 routing)
Excellent communication skills in German and English and ability to coordinate with central IT and vendors

Requirements:

Install, configure, and maintain network switches, access points, and related infrastructure
Handle power connections safely and manage optical (fiber) and copper cabling, including terminations, labeling, and testing
Document installation sites (floor plans, cable runs, device labels) and keep accurate service logs; provide basic network support (Layer 2/3 concepts) and troubleshooting
Act as a technical bridge between on-site teams and the remote NOC, and coordinate with central IT and vendors for equipment delivery, installation scheduling, and issue escalation; maintain safety and security compliance

Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a local hands-on field service technician to support our Network Operations Team in Hamburg.

You will support and maintain critical network infrastructures, including switches, wireless

access points, and their power supply systems, and structured cabling.

This role requires a strong technical understanding and excellent communication skills in

German and English.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain network switches, access points, and related infrastructure.
Handle power connections safely, manage optical (fiber) cabling and copper patch cabling, including terminations, labeling, and testing.
Provide basic network support— basic understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, like ICMP, DHCP, ARP, STP, MAC learning, VLANs, IPv4 Routing etc.
Work closely with central IT and vendors to coordinate equipment delivery, installation scheduling, and issue escalation.
Document installation sites—e.g., floor plans, cable runs, device labels—and keep accurate service logs.
