About the role:
The Subject Matter Experts (SME's) will review and enhance existing syllabus content within the One Academy Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure alignment with the local curriculum for both primary & secondary school. This involves using the LMS Syllabus Wizard to review classifications, and verify that skills per theme are accurate, relevant, and sufficient. The SME will provide updates and maintain reporting to support syllabus publication What will you do?
Curriculum Alignment: Ensure all curated content is aligned with the Jamaican secondary school curriculum guidelines and educational standards.
Syllabus Review: Review and assess existing content for accuracy, relevance, and quality, identifying areas for improvement and updating materials as needed.
Review editable classifications for each syllabus and update to reflect local curriculum standards(Infant, Primary, NSC, CSEC, CAPE).
Review and ensure each theme has a 8-10 relevant skills aligned to the local curriculum.
Collaboration: Work closely with instructional designers, and teachers to gather feedback, incorporate suggestions, and refine content to meet educational objectives.
Content Organization: Develop and maintain a structured content repository or Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring easy accessibility and navigation for teachers and students.
What will a typical day look like?
As a Subject Matter Expert at One on One, your day will include:
Collaborating with other Subject Matter Experts and Instructional Designers to determine content needs.
Reviewing syllabus materials to be used by teachers for lessons.

Who are you?

A Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.
Specialization in subjects offered in the National Standards Curriculum (NSC) - Primary and Secondary; Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) CSEC and CAPE examinations.
Experience preparing students to sit examinations in these areas.
Solid understanding of the Jamaican secondary or primary school curriculum and educational system for the different subject areas.
Familiarity with eLearning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Strong research and analytical skills to evaluate and select relevant educational resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to align content to curriculum standards.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
