Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA contract resource to accelerate the migration of the RMS (Records Management System, by Central Square) system.

The migration is from the current version of RMS that is on SQL Server 2012 to a new version of RMS on SQL Server 2016.

As the system is on premise, our client has complete access to both versions of the databases via SQL Server Management Studio

Standard DBA Responsibilities:

Installing, configuring, and upgrading SQL Server databases.
Configuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Developing and maintaining database standards, policies, and procedures.
Developing and implementing data security measures.
Developing and maintaining database access and permissions.
Developing and managing backup and recovery plans.
Troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues.
Monitoring and tuning database performance.
Proactively addressing database issues.
Developing and maintaining database documentation.
Collaborating with developers to design and implement SQL Server databases.

Requirements

SQL Server DBA and related (10 Years)
Strong analytical skills, identifying problems, evaluating complex information from multiple sources, and determining and providing recommendations based on this analysis.
Performance tuning, troubleshooting, upgrading, and migration from various versions and platforms (i.e. on-prem to cloud, version X to version y)
Experience with setup and support of Microsoft Failover Clustering Services and SQL Server Always-on technologies, Snapshot and Transactional Replication
Ability to work independently as well as working as a team member
