This is a remote position.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant / Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is primarily focused on invoicing, accounts receivable follow-ups, bookkeeping, and managing QuickBooks. It is not a senior accounting or CPA-level position. Perfect for someone early in their accounting career who is organized, reliable, and strong with numbers. We are looking for someone from the Latin American region.
Prepare and send client invoices accurately and on time.
Ensure invoices match contracts, POs, and timesheets where applicable.
Maintain an organized invoicing schedule and track payment terms.
Monitor outstanding receivables and maintain an AR aging report.
Send courteous but firm payment reminders.
Follow up with clients regarding overdue payments.
Document all communication regarding AR.
Record transactions daily in QuickBooks (desktop or online).
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors.
Maintain clean and accurate financial records.
Categorize expenses correctly and ensure proper documentation.
Assist with monthly closing tasks (reconciliations, journal entries).
Maintain vendor files and support AP entry if needed.
Organize receipts, supporting documents, and backup files.
Prepare basic financial reports as requested.
Coordinate with project managers and internal teams to gather billing details.
Support payroll data entry if required (not processing).
Assist with audit preparation or year-end documentation, if needed.
Perform general admin tasks related to finance.
Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
1 to 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting support roles.
Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (preferred).
Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
Proficient with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).
Good communication skills for client follow-ups.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Organized, reliable, and able to handle routine tasks consistently.
Experience with Zoho Books or HubSpot (not required).
Familiarity with IT services or professional services invoicing.
Basic understanding of AR best practices.
