  • Mentor junior practitioners, guide training modules, and refine processes; evaluate emerging data frameworks to expand team capabilities.
  • Create, present, and drive data-driven modifications addressing cost and performance improvements.

Job description

This is a remote position.

 What you will be doing 

  • As an active working leader, you will play a pivotal role in our team, responsible for tactically identifying and optimizing performance issues within a globally distributed big data environment. Your expertise will drive performance enhancements across a multitude of use cases, involving the analysis of data and metadata. 
  • You will excel at identifying patterns within underperforming queries and common support challenges, contributing to the overall efficiency of our systems. 
  • Collaboration will be key as you engage with both onshore and offshore teams, working together to achieve shared goals. 
  • Guiding and mentoring junior practitioners to cultivate advanced skills will be a cornerstone of your role. Furthermore, you will be at the forefront of evaluating emerging data frameworks, continuously expanding our team's capabilities. 
  • Developing training modules and refining processes will be second nature to you, fostering enduring improvements in performance. 
  • You will be an agent of change, grounded in data insights, as you create, present, and drive impactful modifications that cover aspects like cost and performance. 


Requirements


 Must have qualifications 

  • A decade or more of practical experience is essential, specifically within large enterprise environments. Experience with FAANG companies is a notable advantage. 
  • Possession of a post-secondary education, preferably a master's degree, ideally with a background in Mathematics or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated success in roles as a practitioner, leader, mentor, and trainer is a must. 
  • Your track record should include the construction and maintenance of data pipelines and dashboards. 
  • Proven ability in developing data ingestion processes for real-time analysis from diverse streaming data sources is expected. 
  • Your personal contributions should have led to measured optimizations resulting in tangible cost savings.
