This is a remote position.
This role is responsible for managing and maintaining Ubuntu Linux servers, implementing and administering virtualization clusters (Proxmox and VMware), managing storage, networking, and supporting the foundation of our cloud-native platform. The ideal candidate understands modern infrastructure, automation basics, and is capable of learning advanced cloud-native technologies quickly.
• Manage and maintain Ubuntu servers, including monitoring, hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize Proxmox and VMware virtualization clusters.
• Configure storage systems (LVM, ZFS, NFS, SAN/NAS) and ensure reliability and performance.
• Administer cluster networking (bridges, VLANs, routing, firewalls).
• Implement high-availability policies and disaster recovery plans.
• Support migrations between VMware, Proxmox, and physical servers.
• Manage users, SSH access, automation scripts, and routine maintenance.
• Support Docker/Kubernetes environments (basic or intermediate level is acceptable).
• Assist in infrastructure automation (Bash, Ansible, Terraform preferred).
• Work with developers and DevOps to ensure platform reliability and scalability.
• Document systems, procedures, and architectural changes.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu or Debian-based systems.
• Experience managing Proxmox clusters or VMware ESXi/vCenter.
• Solid understanding of virtualization concepts (CPU/RAM overcommit, storage types, snapshots, migration).
• Experience with LVM, ZFS, and block storage concepts.
• Knowledge of networking basics (VLANs, routing, firewalls, bridges).
• Ability to troubleshoot server issues via SSH and logs.
• Familiarity with Docker or container concepts.
• Basic understanding of cloud-native tooling (Kubernetes, CI/CD, load balancers) OR strong ability to learn fast.
• Ability to script using Bash or similar tools.
• Professional, structured, and reliable working style.
• Experience with Ceph clusters or distributed storage.
• Experience migrating VMware → Proxmox environments.
• Understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Ansible).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience in fintech, SaaS, or high-availability operations.
