Job Description:


We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer with 5 years of comprehensive experience, primarily focused on litigation, disputes, and general commercial work, including negotiating both complex as well as simple agreements. Some exposure in conveyancing would be a noteworthy advantage. You will play a crucial role working directly for two core partners at one of our partner firms in Australia, and be one of the first recruits onboarded as they grow. 


Responsibilities:


  • Provide legal advice on a diverse range of commercial matters, with emphasis on litigation, disputes, and general commercial work.

  • Draft, review, and finalise a variety of contracts, from intricate agreements to straightforward contracts, ensuring alignment with the firm's interests and compliance with legal standards.

  • Engage actively in negotiations and dispute resolution, safeguarding the firm's interests.

  • Work in tandem with the founding partners and other teams to identify legal needs and develop feasible solutions.

  • Undertake in-depth legal research, producing comprehensive reports with your findings.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in commercial law, especially with reference to litigation and conveyancing, with a focus on the Australian jurisdiction.

  • Assist in structuring and streamlining workflows and document management processes.



Requirements

Qualifications:


  • LLB degree is mandatory. A Master's degree or any degree from an Australian institution will be a significant advantage.

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in commercial law, especially in litigation, disputes, and contract work. Experience in conveyancing will be a plus.

  • Proven ability to work proactively and independently.

  • Stellar communication skills, both in writing and verbally.

  • Capability to work seamlessly with a remote team and in a partnership-led setting.
