Remote Senior Level 3 Network Engineer (Microsoft & Fortinet)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Remote Senior Level 3 Network Engineer (Microsoft & Fortinet) with deep, hands-on expertise across Microsoft on-premise and Microsoft cloud environments, combined with strong Fortinet networking and security experience. This role is designed for a seasoned engineer who can own complex environments end to end, lead advanced troubleshooting efforts, and deliver high-quality design and implementation work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Level 3 escalations across systems, network, and security domains, while also playing a key role in architecting, deploying, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure solutions. This is a senior, autonomous role that requires minimal oversight, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to operate confidently in fast-paced, complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and support Level 3 escalations across systems, network, and security environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft on-prem infrastructure, including:
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
• Structure, deploy, and support Microsoft Cloud environments, including:
• Microsoft 365
• Azure (identity, compute, networking, security)
• Azure AD / Entra ID
• Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex incidents.
• Design and manage Fortinet-based network and security solutions, including:
• FortiGate firewalls
• VPNs (site-to-site and client VPN)
• Network segmentation and security policies
• Implement security best practices across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Perform design, implementation, and optimization work, not just support.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Operate independently with minimal oversight, managing priorities and solutions end to end.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level engineers when needed.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Advanced English Level (Written and spoken).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate effectively with teams, leadership, providers, and clients.
• Senior-level (Level 3) engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
• Microsoft on-prem infrastructure
• Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
• Advanced experience with Fortinet networking and security technologies.
• Proven ability to:
• Own complex environments
• Design and implement solutions
• Troubleshoot high-impact issues independently
• Strong understanding of:
• Networking concepts (LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
• Security architecture and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently in complex, fast-paced environments
• Reliable computer (Windows 10 or newer), two monitors, and stable high-speed internet.
