Software Engineering Manager

Role: Software Development Manager

Salary: £65-70,000

Location: Remote based in England

As a dynamic, software and services company with an established client base of large, blue-chip IT companies were investing in our technical team to drive our product development capabilities to take advantage of the market opportunity.

This position will be responsible for managing the end to end product development and ongoing maintenance of our solutions.

The role would be also become the product expert and will work with major clients.

Our product developers are offshore but we are also developing our technical team in the UK to execute on our low code strategy. You would work closely with the development and internal teams.

The role has elements of managing product ownership, technical product manager and strategic product manager.

You will also be required to focus on the project deliveries of engineering processes, design, documentation, planning, execution, operations and feedback.

This role will look after all aspects of managing the product from both a client and technology perspective.

  • Working with the Product Director on delivery of the product strategy.
  • Responsibility for product ownership from inception to end of life
  • Ownership of a development budget
  • Design of new functionality including new modules, enhancements and maintenance
  • Management of the relationship with our outsourced development partner and fostering team work delivering effective product development outcomes
  • Participate in the current project of evaluation how to and with whom do we build the product
  • Responsible for recommending the technology we use and bringing new technologies into our process.
  • Becoming an expert in the product, the environment in which it operates, the business challenges it addresses and the outcomes it delivers
  • Client communication in conjunction with the Marketing team
  • Promote the product in industry forums, publications including the development of blogs

Skills and competencies required for the role

  • Knowledge and experience of the Agile methodology
  • A proven track record as a successful Software Development Manager.
  • Knowledge of the following technologies:
  • Power BI
  • Python
  • AWS
  • Experience working with an offshore software development organisation
  • Knowledge of software licencing
  • Project Management
  • Experience working with client delivery team at exec level
  • Creative, determined and committed.
  • Outstanding communications skills
