Contractor - Magazine Writer

The Art of Education University is seeking exceptional educators to write for its online magazine, which receives hundreds of thousands of views per month. Writers submit a predetermined number of articles with corresponding photos and video clips. Writers must be in the K-12 art room, have strong writing and communication skills, enthusiasm and knowledge of trends and best practices in art education, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

POSITION DETAILS

Structured as a remote part-time, project-based, contractor position. This position will report to the Media Content Manager.

This position is eligible to remote work from the following locations: USA.

The Details

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Submit a predetermined number of articles with corresponding photos and video clips each month.
• Communicate with the Media Content Manager and Writing Team weekly to determine article topics, receive training, and collaborate on articles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Open to suggestions and feedback.
• Passion and knowledge about up-to-date trends and best practices in art education.
• Organized and responsible with deadlines.
• Comfortable and proficient with technology.

• Writers must be in the K-12 art room

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to view computer screens for significant periods of time. The Art of Education University is an online university; therefore, 95-98% of one’s time will be on or using technology.
• Ability to use a laptop keyboard with accuracy.
• Ability to hear at normal levels and through electronic devices such as laptops, earbuds, phones, and the like.

Compensation

Writers earn a base stipend of $150 for each article with corresponding photos and video clips.
