Job description: Job description Client Enterprise Data Team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to assist with a new project. They will be responsible for helping with the build out of a new data lake on AWS. This person should have experience in the creation of the design and architecture of data lakes. All of the current code this person will be working with is in Python so they will need to have experience writing code from scratch and modifying existing code.
Since the data lake will sit on AWS, this candidate must have strong experience working with AWS and AWS services (including but not limited to Step Functions, Lambdas, ECS, S3 buckets, Redshift, and more). The design and architecture for the data lakes will later be implemented by the team in collaboration with this data engineer so they will need to help guide other junior and mid-level resources through the implementation.
Soft skills are also very important for this role - they will need to have great communication skills, be proactive, and help guide more junior resources on the team. They are looking for a "go getter " - this team does not want someone who waits for instruction.
Required skills
Design experience in creation of data lakes on AWS - experience with architecture and creation of design for data lakes
