Job description

Job Summary:

The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing financial data, documentation, and loan applications to determine eligibility in line with company standards. This role involves reviewing and maintaining accurate underwriting files, ensuring compliance, and escalating complex cases for senior review. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and quantitative skills, advanced spreadsheet proficiency, and sound judgment for data-driven decision-making under tight deadlines.

Core Tasks:

    •    Evaluate financial data and documents to determine loan approval eligibility
    •    Review applications, supporting docs, and reports for accuracy and completeness
    •    Maintain underwriting files and ensure compliance with company standards
    •    Present complex cases or exceptions to senior underwriters or management for review
    •    Crate and maintain SOPs and assist with other tactical admin task as needed

Must Have:

    •    3+ years of underwriting experience in lending
    •    Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
    •    Intermediate - advanced skills with Excel / Google Sheets 
    •    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    •    Ability to make data-driven decisions under tight deadlines
    •    Ability to work full-time EST

Nice to Have:

    •    Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field
